Performance Evidence
Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:
locates and applies relevant documentation, policies and proceduresimplements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient completion of conducting telescopic materials handler operations including:applying operational safetyaccessing, interpreting and applying technical informationcalculating volume and weights maintaining equipment written recordsapplying fault finding techniquesaccessing, interpreting and applying environmental management plancarrying out machine operator maintenanceworks effectively with others to undertake and complete the conducting of telescopic materials handler operations that meets all the required outcomes including:complying with written and verbal reporting requirements and procedurescommunicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructionsusing load handling communication methods with all partiesusing conventional hand and audible signalsdemonstrates completion of conducting telescopic materials handler operations that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:performing pre-start, start-up, park-up and shutdown procedures checking controls, brakes and attachments for manoeuvrability and serviceability and rectifying or reporting faultsoperating the telescopic materials handlerselecting, attaching and securing appropriate slings and lifting gearshifting the loadselecting, removing and fitting attachmentstransporting the machine and equipment between work sites
